Firstly ask yourself why your intentions are as they are. Ask yourself why you want to move to a rez.

Not anyone can move to a reservation. The U.S. has a say so in who can live here, and thus reservations have the same power. Although you could find yourself a piece of land on a checkerboarded rez. If your unaware of what checkerboarded rez means then maybe it might be better to know more about a place before trying to live there. The best I can say is that it might be good not to have any expections.

Good luck on your future journey.

`I agree with John on this. First ask yourself why you want to live on the rez. It's not an easy life. What are your intentions? THis is another good question. Is it out of some romanitisised notion, or is there a genuine desire to do some good there? Me I just got back from going to four reservations in South Dakota with a group handing out school supplies to the children, and offering clothes to those who really need them. It can be a hard life out there. That being said I want to go back, even though I know what I'd be gettting into. THe experiences I had, the wonderful people I met, and the feeling of doing what I was meant to, more than offset any of the potential negatives. As John says you might want to learn more about a place before trying to live there. Make visits to some reservations, learn about those people and all you can before just running blind to live on a reservation. As he says some Native Nations may not want a Non Native liveing on their reservation. Be careful with that. If you do your homework, visit some reservations and take the time to think about it, you'll be able to make a better informed decision. Good luck in any case:)
